Rumors are swirling that March 2024 could see the announcement of the successor to Nintendo's popular handheld console, the Switch - dubbed the Switch 2. Partners of the Japanese gaming behemoth are already making moves in anticipation of the upcoming reveal, based on insider information.

Since its launch in 2017, the Switch has become one of the most successful video game consoles of all time, with Nintendo revealing last December that the system has sold over 139 million units.

In the latest episode of their podcast, YouTuber and known Nintendo insider Nate the Hate expressed belief that the Japanese titan would announce the Switch 2 in March. Nate the Hate shared this insight with their guest, fellow content creator John Linneman from Digital Foundry, suggesting that Nintendo could use the Game Developers Conference (GDC) taking place that month in San Francisco to showcase the Switch 2 and discuss plans with partners. GDC is among the largest gaming conventions globally, and this year's event is expected to attract up to 30,000 attendees, according to event producer Informa.
